Q&A: Can a untreated yeast infection affect other parts of your body?

Question by Pretty Lady: Can a untreated yeast infection affect other parts of your body?
My friend has a yeast infection, but because she has diabetes her doctor says nothing can be done about it to get rid of it completely. She has experienced severe pain in her head for the past week, can this be due to her yeast infection?

Best answer:

Answer by ☼~Ļ○ΰ~♫®
Yeast infections can spread from your vagina to your bladder, from your bladder to your kidneys, and from your kidneys into your bloodstream. When the infection is released into the bloodstream, it can be spread to all organs. This is called septicemia. It can lead to any number of fatal conditions, including endocarditis (infection of the heart) and meningitis (infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord). Your friend should definitely see a doctor as soon as possible!

I started my new anti-candida diet but I feel worse (only day two) is this normal before I get better?

Question by psychcoach@ymail.com: I started my new anti-candida diet but I feel worse (only day two) is this normal before I get better?
I quite yeast and sugar, upped my vitamin and vegetable intake. How long until I recover (just a ball park)?

Any holistic suggestions?

Best answer:

Answer by SpawnOfAzazel
There is a supplement called Candida Cleanse that works great. Anything that contains garlic or oil of oregano helps. How long it takes to recover varies, usually one to two weeks because you are experiencing what is known as a “die off” effect.

How long can you have a yeast infection before you notice it?

Question by Tina K: How long can you have a yeast infection before you notice it?
Can you have a yeast infection for a few months, and not even notice?

Best answer:

Answer by Hayley
Yeast infections cause extremely noticeable itching and burning about 1 or 2 days after they begin
so it is highly unlikely that you can go a few months without noticing a yeast infection that you have. You should notice it right away. I hope this helped(:

Is itchy ears a sign of mild Candida or extreme? Can gluten intolerance cause Candida?

Question by sandalsinsand: Is itchy ears a sign of mild Candida or extreme? Can gluten intolerance cause Candida?
I recently found out I am gluten intolerant. *Can this cause candida? *
I do not relate to any other symptoms than the itchy ears.
*Are itchy ears a sign of mild Candida or extreme?*

I am on the “phase II’ candida diet.
I took the at home “spit taste” & compared to the woman’s examples of a bad case & a case where the person should lower sugar intake, I was in the middle I believe.

Candida is normally found in the body, so the presence of candida in the body isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It is when the candida grows out of control that problems arise.

In addition, there has been research done that shows that there is a protein found in the cell wall of Candida that is very similar to gluten. As a result, the immune system can actually mount an immune reaction against the candida as it does with with the protein found in gluten.

Q&A: Is coconut oil good for weight loss and candida?

Question by : Is coconut oil good for weight loss and candida?
anyone actually tried it to lose weight? I heard eating a tablespoon before each meal does good for weight loss and kills off yeast..anyone can vouch for it?

Best answer:

Answer by Marty
Coconut may have beneficial properties, but something that people don’t consider is that even though there are these good properties, oils of any kind are not health food. In order to get that one tablespoon of oil, it requires almost a pound of coconut. That is too much for one time. I do know of some people who have taken the coconut oil three times a day, and now have heart problems as a result of it.

Best method to loose weight is to eat a low fat vegan diet and regular exercise. This is not a quick temporary fix, but if you stick with it, you will be able to maintain the weight loss and a healthy life.

What is the best way to get rid of breast thrush or candida albicans?

Question by plaidplaty: What is the best way to get rid of breast thrush or candida abicans?

Answer by DrkAngl

Ahh, candida. I’ve had my bouts with that. My allergist put me on what was called a “candida yeast free” diet. You can look more up on it at google.com also.

Basically, it was just a diet taking out all those things that cause the candida to grow in your body. Sugar, breads, pastas, mushrooms, anything made with mould (cheese), most fruits. The idea was to starve out the candida and let it die down.

What happens is that the body’s natural balance can gotten of track and this has allowed the candida to over grow. Acidopholus pills can be taken that will replenish the “good” bateria in the body. They can be found at most health food and vitamin stores. Also, your good old standard of yogurt, but make sure it says that the culture is “live active culture” or you get none of the good bacteria this way.

Ask your doctor about this too. There are pills to help ease up the growth these days if it’s a big problem. I know for those that keep having vaginal infections due to yeast, there is Nystatin. I’m sure there are others by now too.

what is the best thing to do for thrush and candida overgrowth?

Question by keeferdude: what is the best thing to do for thrush and candida overgrowth?
I have been ailed with this for over 3 years now and it is getting worse, I have lots of abdominal pain, fatigue, and an overall of not feeling well. The doctors do not seem to help, most do not think I have it, others have given me just a small dosage of medication, which helps for a while but it always returns. I take about a half of a bulb of garlic a day, and that seems to help, but it is not taking complete care of it. Please help…..

It is a great sign that the doctors can’t find the exact problem of yours. But don’t be worried, go another well-known and specialized doctor on it and I think you shall get better treatment.

Help, what can a young vegan eat on the candida diet?

Question by overwhelm: Help, what can a young vegan eat on the candida diet?
Hi,
I am a vegan and I ate mostly fruit and odwalla juices before the candida diagnosis. I don’t know what to do now. Please Help! I would love a structured meal plan, I am starting to get really hungry, is there anybody who can help, because I’d love to eat some breakfast tomorrow. I am normally quite healthy and need a nutritious plan because I don’t want to stunt my growth. Thanks so much.

Avoid sugar. Eat lot of vegetables and fruits. Since you are a vegan, honey and yogurt etc. are ruled out for you. Will you be able to take probiotics? I am not sure since I am a vegetarian, not vegan.

Does anyone have recipes for the candida diet?

Question by ohyeah: Does anyone have recipes for the candida diet?
I am looking for main dishes, condiments, non-alcoholic drinks, bread, desserts, and substitutions for cheese, yogurt, yeast, milk, and anything else interesting. Thanks for any help you can give me for this “yeast monster” problem!

Best answer:

Answer by Nurse Answer Mama
Use diabetic foods. If you have yeast so bad you are “doing a diet” for it, you SERIOUSLY need to see a doc ASAP. Candida is a fungus. You should be screened for Diabetes. Diabetics can have severe issues with fungi. It is very difficult for them to get rid of it without medical supervision. The yeast lives off all the “sugar” in the diabetic’s body. It can cause serious infections that can even be deadly.
