Will a yeast infection go away on its own?
Question by 0864213579: Will a yeast infection go away on its own?
I have a yeast infection and am also menstruating. I am pretty uncomfortable about using a suppository right now – will the infection clear up on its own or do I need to get medication? Also, is there a pill I can take or is the only option the suppository?

My advice is to see your DR soon.he or she will perform a pelvic exam, test the discharge and depending on the results, have you take a antifungal and or antibiotics to get rid of your symptoms. In the mean time I would avoid baths, hot tubs, spas, douching, and eat yogurt that contains lactobacillus. Lactobacillus is a type of “good” bacteria that’s common in your vagina. It may help reduce recurrent vaginal yeast infections. Hope this helps

The infection will not go away on its own! I guarantee it will only get worse as time goes by. They have a ointment too, in case you don’t want to use the suppository but it also depends on how bad the infection is..
You have to see a doctor and candid-B cream may be advised
It won’t go away on it’s own. You need to use an over the counter suppository. I haven’t heard of any pills, but there might be some. Not too sure. But i know it won’t go away on its own. I guess you should just wait until you’re off your monthly visit, and then do the suppository. The infection is not only on the outside. It’s on the inside. But until you’re off your period, you could buy the over the counter cream, and put that on the outside to relieve the itching until you’re ready to do the suppository. Hope this helps 🙂
Yeast does not go away on its own. I eat yogurt with live active cultures every day and no longer have a problem with yeast. The over the counter drugs help if you are uncomfortable externally. There is also acidolphilus (sp?) available at Walgreens, Walmart, or health food stores. I used to get one always before my period too. Good luck
It wont go away on its on..believe me. I learned the hard way. However, if you go to your doctor they now have a one time pill you can take in addition to cream to reduce the irritation. You just take the pill once and thats it! My started to go away in like 2 days.
For about 1 out of 4 women a yeast infection can go away on its own just after her period as the period changes the pH of the vagina. I hope it happens for you.
Your doctor can give you a pill. You can’t buy them like suppositories.
